Judge Orders Ye to Pay $147,000 in Fees to Tony Saxon
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brock Hammond ordered Ye to pay $147,000 in attorneys’ fees and $34,433.93 in costs to former project manager Tony Saxon. The ruling was issued on October 13, 2026. Saxon sued Ye in 2023 over injuries he suffered while overseeing a renovation at Ye’s Tadao Ando-designed Malibu property.
The new award brings the total amount Tony Saxon has received from Ye to roughly $321,000, which includes a previous $140,000 jury award.
Saxon’s attorneys sought approximately $1.23 million in fees and costs after the trial. Ye’s lawyers argued the court should deny the fee request and cap any award at $59,425. Ron Zambrano said, “I respect Judge Hammond’s openness to consider my argument.”
Ye’s spokesperson Milo Yiannopoulos called the ruling fittingly humiliating regarding Saxon’s team’s pursuit of a larger fee award.
In March, jurors awarded Saxon $100,000 for medical expenses and $40,000 for pain and suffering. The jurors rejected Saxon’s claims for wrongful termination and unpaid wages.
Ye purchased the Malibu mansion for $57.3 million in 2021. He sold the property in 2024 for $21 million, which was far below the $57.3 million purchase price.
Ye has sued Saxon over a mechanic’s lien placed on the mansion, accusing him of interfering with its sale. That case remains pending.
