Tank’s “YES” Tops Adult R&B Airplay Chart for 12th No. 1
Tank’s song “YES” reached No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart dated Oct. 17, 2026. The milestone marked Tank’s 12th No. 1 on the chart, breaking a tie with Charlie Wilson for the most leaders by a male artist in the chart’s 33-year history.
Tank addressed the significance of his new chart record. “Having a [No.] 1 song is always special, but being [No.] 1 in the history of the platform is just something different,” Tank said.
For the tracking week of Oct. 2-8, 2026, “YES” rose from the runner-up spot to No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart. The song registered the largest increase in plays among all songs at the Adult R&B format, earning it the weekly Greatest Gainer honor.
October London’s song “Silent Treatment” fell from No. 1 after one week in charge as “YES” advanced.
“YES” interpolates the song “Say Yes” by the R&B duo Floetry, which spent seven weeks at No. 1 in 2003. Floetry members Marsha Ambrosius and Natalie Stewart are credited as songwriters on “YES” due to the interpolation.
Tank previously secured his 11th No. 1 on the chart with the song “Control.”
Tank ranks second to Alicia Keys, who has 14 No. 1s on the Adult R&B Airplay chart.
The single “Yes” tops both the Adult R&B Airplay chart and Mediabase’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. “Yes” is the latest single from Tank’s album EXPERIENCE, available through R&B Money/BMG.
Tank offered advice to musicians: “Just keep singing the R&B music you love and God will do the rest.” The song is currently at one week at the top of the chart.
