DJ Akademiks Jokes About Using Drake’s OVO Chain to Impress Women Online
DJ Akademiks joked about using the OVO chain to impress women on social media during a Derek King livestream caught by DJ Akademiks TV on Instagram. He received the chain from Drake earlier in 2026 when he participated in the “ICEMAN” reveal stream.
Akademiks said he would limit social media posts about the chain to avoid questions. “But I’ll be honest. I got to make sure I don’t put too many posts on the page after that. I’ll archive the joint. I ain’t gon’ lie, I got a couple of, ‘Is that AI?’ No, b***h, this real. Hold on, now, let’s get into the DMs. Now we here. But I’m not going to send them, that’s kind of corny.”
Akademiks admitted that he sometimes sends low-key DMs to women who may not know him well, hoping they recognize him and Drake from his social media page. “When they click on the page, I ain’t going to lie to you, sometimes I DM low-key chicks. So they might not really know me like that. So they click on the page, they be like, ‘Oh, s**t, it’s you and Drake.’.”
Akademiks maintains frequent contact with Drake, either directly or by commenting on his actions.
He has claimed to know Drake’s monthly salary and has predicted his status with UMG. He also previewed the tour for Drake’s 2026 projects.
Fans reportedly criticize Akademiks for “glazing” or mocking his proximity to Drake.
